house update: the final countdown

we are officially 9 days away from our close date!! SINGLE DIGITS Y’ALL!!! the house is pretty much finished on the inside, too. we will do a walk through this friday and make a list of any dings or marks or little fixes that need to happen before close, and then we are home free! just landscaping and TRIM FINISHES (*COUGH COUGH**) that need to happen!

my parents and sissiebear and brosef come in this weekend to help us move, and they are bringing the dining table we ordered! i can’t wait to see it.  you KNOW i’ll be posting like a fiend the next few weeks!

also a guarantee is that the amount of work that needs to be done will be increasingly inversely proportional to my motivation, so that means lots of blog posts and picture taking instead :) i told myself, “just pack one box each night, and by the time you move you’ll be golden”……and then college leah decided to roll around again, and i was like “naaahhh  girl ….it’ll work out….i’ll just pack a TON on the day of and it will be fiiiiiiiiiiine.” so instead of proactively packing, i lay around on my phone and computer trying to distract myself from how much work needs to be done/how stressed i am about it.  oh and food and i have looooooong talks about it too. so there’s that.

okay here are the finished products from the kitchen and living/dining rooms! can’t wait to furnish!

we decided on pocket doors for our pantry and i am SO glad we did. it frees up a whole extra wall of space in there! (credit to pauly on that one.)

not gonna lie. i am a little too excited about having pantry space. i sense an insane amount of chalkboard paint and ikea jars in my future....

and more granite and stove top. also: we have always had electric stove tops and i feel nervous about having this gas one and accidentally leaving the gas running and then lighting a candle upstairs and blowing our house to pieces....these are the things that keep me up at night...

I’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog! My husband (a Minnesotan!) and I are building a house together in Colorado- I love living vicariously through other people’s building posts… it helps me to keep the hope alive that one day we can actually move in! If you’re interested in reliving your previous construction stresses for any reason, you can visit us at http://www.pottymouthedmommyblog.com
